Senior Manager, Group LTE and Applications Development for the RF Group is responsible for managing all aspects of: 

LTE product development, including relevant aspects of system engineering, hardware and software development, system integration/productization, and product test

Application development across RFCD in the following categories: LTE, Tactical, and selected systems products.

The successful candidate will manage a cross-functional organization including roles in system engineering, hardware development, software development, system integration and test. The manager will have both project management and line management responsibilities for the resources in the group. The manager has responsibility for the overall development effort, as well as to create and facilitate interfaces to the rest of the engineering organization (e.g. systems engineering), product management, operations, and sales; coordinating product development to assure we achieve high levels of synergy in LTE and applications at the RF Group level. Other responsibilities include: 

Overseeing the project planning, tracking and oversight activities of all PSPC Applications and LTE product development, including: 

BeOn and applications software development 
LTE provisioning solutions

LTE and BeOn system integration

LTE solutions SVT

Overseeing the project planning, tracking and oversight activities of all Tactical and System Applications and related products, including: 

Android applications (e.g., FalconCommand, Tac Chat IP, SKDU, Video, others) 
RF-3590 tablet platform software

Windows applications (e.g., FalconCommand, Tac Chat IP, C2View, WMT, others)

Tactical cellular LTE hardware and software

Manage development resources, both internal and external, to achieve Applications and LTE R&D project objectives.

Close coordination with terminal hardware development teams to assure application, accessory and system performance. 
Collaborate with other Engineering teams, PLM, and sales to establish IRAD and EAID budgets and pursue related program opportunities.

Manage IRAD , EAID, and Program-related budgets for Application and LTE development projects

Work with product management to define Applications and LTE products solutions, and manage IRAD priorities

Complete all product development stage gate or IPDS activities from product concept to production release. Drive product development process for all engineering aspects of Application and LTE products.

Qualifications :

BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS degree required.

Minimum of 10 years engineering experience

Significant experience working with outsource vendors and 3rd party resources.

5 years experience interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product management, and, in particular engineering service provider partners, outside vendors and contractors.

5 years experience with direct management and supervision of development engineers

5 years experience in performing project planning, tracking, and oversight activities with occasional travel as necessary to perform management and oversight of outside vendors or contractors

Understanding of LTE and broadband wireless technologies 
Understanding of Tactical Radio products, both DoD and International 
Understanding of Android and Windows based application platforms and operating environments.

5 years of experience working with PLM, Sales, and Engineering to shape product development roadmaps and new product specifications and requirements.

CMMI and standard software development processes

Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, etc.)

Preferred Additional Skills :

Understanding of VIDA and Harris LMR/LTE solutions

Masters Degree (ME, MS, or MBA)

Experience presenting on related topics in conferences or other industry forums.
