FirstNet, AT&T Set for State Plan `Kick-off’ Meeting with SPOCs

Now into the third month of its public-private partnership, FirstNet and AT&T remain laser focused on a top priority: the State Plans. FirstNet moved forward on the plans soon after forming the partnership and are targeting the delivery via an online portal later this month. Delivering the State Plans is a critical milestone in the development of the FirstNet Network, and FirstNet have strived to develop a process that incorporates flexibility and provides opportunities for State input. Currently, FirstNet and AT&T are working to get the plans to the States as soon as possible, while making sure they have the information they need to make an informed decision.

As a next step, FirstNet, AT&T, and the SPOCs (as well as other state and territory representatives) will come together later this week for a State Plan “kick-off” meeting in Dallas, Texas. This will be an opportunity to review the State Plans process in detail and for the states to understand how the online portal will operate. In addition, there will be a number of opportunities for the SPOCs and their teams to learn more about the FirstNet Network solution and the State Plan review process.
